MATI - ikat fringe applique

The word Mati means Meaning: Thought, intention, insight in Sanskrit. Our Mati fabric is an study in these elements. A truly artisan made design. It starts with an insightful question; how to merge traditional design with modern aesthetic? It leads with intention;  composition & craft. Mati is a fabric of dualities; stillness & motion, simplicity & craft. A handwoven cotton stripe forms the base: calm, linear and intentional. Then, a separate fringe—an ikat woven in 100% linen—is attached, adding a dimension of movement & depth. It is an ode to what it truly means to be hand crafted. It couldn’t exist any other way.
