**Please note** – this is a hand made fabric. Inconsistencies in weave structure may be present. These are part of the character of this fabric, and not considered a flaw. The Ikat pattern is hand screen printed on 100% cotton warp threads. It is then handwoven on traditional foot looms.
Jiva is part of our MATI collection. The Mati Collection is a soulful ode to earth, hand, and spirit—three fabrics rooted in the art of slow craft. Named after Sanskrit words that speak to consciousness and creativity, each textile draws from a color palette of earthen clay, ash, stone, and sand—tones inspired by an adobe style open-air pottery studio in Goa, India (Named Mati Earth) & the southwest landscape of, Austin, TX.
The word Jiva means; The individual soul
Jiva is an all-over handwoven ikat that reads like texture from afar, but reveals a rhythmic, living pattern up close. It’s a subtle expression of spirit, which is not always neat and linear. There’s a pulse in its repetition, a softness in its complexity. A simple stripe two tone stripe provides the base for the ikat design to be hand screen printed on the loose warp threads, before being hand woven.
